Why should you enrol your dog on group walks?
Group walks are great for increased mental stimulation, improved social skills, and reducing anxiety, ultimately helping them become a much more confident and happier dog. Group walks are also useful for those owners who are out at work all day or busy with other commitments.
How do group walks work?
I work to ensure all groups are appropriately grouped to meet each dog’s needs. Each dog is picked up, and we’ll travel to a carefully selected location for their fun-filled walk.
How many dogs do you walk at any one time?
Usually, I will not have more than 4 dogs with me unless I am using a secure dog field for the walk, however in special circumtances there may be times I have 5 dogs, please be rest assured that each dogs safety and happiness is always my top priority. If I have booked a secure dog field, I will never have more than 6/7 dogs with me (dog size dependent); this is to ensure that they can all be transported in the van safely.
Can I specify a particular time for my dog to be walked?
My group walks are carried out daily Monday-Friday, with the first walk going out at around 9-10 am and the second around 12-1 pm. Timings can depend on what dogs are booked in on particular days, with other factors such as weather and traffic conditions also affecting timings. Although I may not always be able to give you an exact time, I will endeavour to pick up your dog as near to any requested time as possible and keep an open line of communication with you. Please contact me if you have particular requirements, and I can do my best to meet them.
How long will my dog be out for?
Your dog will have a 60-minute walk, meaning they will always be out of the house for AT LEAST 1 hour, the entire duration dependent on the number of dogs on a walk and how long pick-ups/drop-offs take.
Where will you take my dog for its walk?
All of my walks are carried out in green spaces so that your dog is free to roam safely. Walking locations are carefully selected and depend on the number of dogs on the walk. Larger groups (over 4 dogs) will always be taken to a secure dog field.
Do I need to be home when you pick-up/drop-off my dog?
No, one of the benefits of my walking/care services is getting your dog out of the house if you are at work all day or have other commitments. You can either provide me with a key or use a key safe box. All keys provided to me are kept in a safe and secure location. Your key will never be marked with anything other than the name of your dog.
What happens in an emergency?
My first call in an emergency will be to the owner. If I am unable to get a hold of you and urgent veterinary attention is required, I will take your dog to your nominated veterinary practice (this information is obtained when your dog is first enrolled with A Dog's Life) or alternatively the nearest vet, depending on the circumstances.
Will it be the same person walking my dog?
Yes, I walk all of the dogs. I think it is extremely important to grow a continued bond with each dog, and I pride myself on offering a reliable, personal service.
How do I pay for walks?
An invoice will be emailed to you at the end of each month for the sum total of the services you have used for that month. I accept payment by credit or debit card and bank transfer.
Will I be charged if I cancel a walk at short notice?
I am very flexible when it comes to bookings and will always do my best to meet your needs. Please provide me with 24 hours' notice for any cancellations to avoid a cancellation fee.

I would be delighted to have a chat with you about enrolling your dog with A Dog's Life!
